Walking with Purpose: 500 Miles on the Camino

Next week, Chuck and I will start walking 500 miles of the Camino de Santiago, an ancient pilgrimage across northern Spain that has drawn travelers, seekers, and people of faith for more than a thousand years.
For us, this journey is more than a trip. It is a pilgrimage – a time to step away for just a bit and spend time in reflection, gratitude, prayer, and discernment.
Many friends have asked how they might be part of this journey. If you would like to be, there are two meaningful ways to do so.
First and foremost we would be honored to carry your prayers. If there is a prayer intention, a burden you are carrying, someone who needs healing, or simply the name of a loved one you would like to remember, please place it in a sealed envelope and get it to us by 8-14 or use messenger, email walker810@cox.net or text. We will tuck it into our backpacks and carry it with us from France to Santiago de Compostella. We will carry them each day, pray for your intentions along the way, and deliver them to Santiago de Compostela@.
Second, if you feel moved to do so, I invite you to make a gift to Walk for Hope in honor or memory of someone whose life has been touched by cancer. While the Camino is a deeply personal pilgrimage, I have chosen to connect my part of it with a cause that has become so much a part of my own life’s work. Your generosity will help advance lifesaving research and compassionate care, bringing hope to patients and families when they need it most. See link in subsequent post.
If you would like to follow along and hear about our experience follow along. We will share occasional reflections from the journey.
One of the most beautiful traditions of pilgrimage is the realization that none of us walks alone. We carry the hopes, struggles, gratitude, and love of those who have touched our lives. It would be a profound honor to carry a small piece of your journey with us.
Thank you for your friendship, and encouragement.

    Buen Camino. Annette
